Paramita Datta Dey is a city planner and has more than 20 years of experience in Urban Development, Water and Sanitation, Urban Poverty Reduction, Policy and Programme Development, Programme management, Environmental and Social Assessment, Programme Monitoring and Evaluation, Research, Knowledge Management and Capacity Building. She has worked with Ministries of the Government of India and internationally funded projects of the UNDP, CIDA, World Bank, ADB, USAID and BMGF. She has been engaged in a number of policy initiatives in the urban development sector. She is presently working on evidence-based research and advocacy for urban policy and practice, with sanitation as the focus. A core member of the research team at the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), she is the coordinator of the project on Swachh Bharat Mission - Solid Waste Management (SBM-SWM) Phase III Exposure Workshop (2018-19), supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
