Nabamalika Joardar is the Fellowship Manager of the India Smart Cities Fellowship Program at the National Institute of Urban Affairs. Her interests are in the field of urban policy, land and housing issues, and has over 7 years of experience in the urban development sector. She is involved in executing and managing deliverables, finances and administrative accountability of the India Smart Cities Fellowship Program. She has previously worked in urban policy and programme research and implementation, focusing on access to housing for marginalized and vulnerable communities. Apart from this, she has developed educational material on urban poverty and has published content on participatory urban planning.
Prior to joining NIUA, she was associated with Vision EIS Consulting, where she led teams for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in over 40 cities. She has also worked in rights-based research of housing policy and implementation.
Nabamalika Joardar is an alumna of School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi. She holds a degree in Masters of Planning, with a specialization in Housing.
