The Smart Cities Mission and CITIIS both followed a ‘comprehensively designed call for projects,’ through a competitive process that set multiple criteria for selection. The SmartNet platform was designed to run the entire process of selection online. 67 projects were submitted from 36 cities across 4 themes.
