Meeting on, “Legal Framework for Urban Sector”

The Confederation on Indian Industries (CII) has initiated a dialogue with the Ministry of Urban Development (MOUD) on key urban issues. As part of these efforts, CII requested CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory to prepare a background paper on these issues. The draft paper prepared by CRISIL focuses on: 74th Constitutional Amendment and next steps in an enabling legal framework for urban sector. The draft paper was discussed in a meeting of urban experts at NIUA on January 10, 2009. Prof. Om Mathur, NIPFP chaired this meeting. CII. CRISIL will be revising the paper based on discussions during the meeting.
