World Bank Team Visits NIUA

The World Bank has recently completed a study on Financial Management of Urban Local Bodies.

In this context, Ms. Priya Goel and Mr. V. Ramakrishnan, Sr. Financial Management Specialists, World Bank had discussions with Prof. Chetan Vaidya, Dr. Mukesh Mathur and Mr. Sandeep Thakur of NIUA and Mr. Alok Shiromany, FIRE Project on May 2nd, 2008 at NIUA. 

 

 

 

The team discussed possibility of the Bank providing technical assistance and capacity building support to NIUA for ULBs. 

Specific areas of the team’s interest were:

  • municipal budget procedure handbook;

  • municipal audit manual; and

  • capacity building for municipal financial management.
