Prof. Mukesh Mathur participated in the 3rd International Conference on Municipality Finance from 6-7 October 2010 at Tehran organised by Center for Technology Studies (CTS), Shariff University of Technology, Tehran. It was supported by the Un-Habitat and the Municipalities of Iran.

In addition to the conference, Prof. Mathur was one of the key resource person for the Municipal Finance and Sustainable Revenue Sources workshop. He made presentations on the following topics:

(a) Financial relations between central and local governments ( with international experiences);

(b) Sources of sustainable income with innovative examples ; and

(c) Financing of urban local government institutions in India.

While making the presentation on the above topics, reference of recent reforms in the urban sector to improve the urban governance and civic infrastructure in Indian cities was also discussed with the participants, which was well taken by them. He was also interviewed by the local TV channel on the issues of PPP in the urban infrastructure sector with a focus on Tehran.
