World Urban Forum 5 at Rio, Brazil:

The UN- HABITAT and Government of Brazil organised the World Urban Forum (WUF) 5 in Rio de Janerio, Brazil on March 22-26, 2010. It was attended by about 18,000 persons from over 150 countries. Theme of WUF was right to City-bridging the urban divide. Concepts such as sustainable urban development and equal access to shelter, wat-san and inclusive cities were be covered in the Forum.

Prof. Chetan Vaidya, Director NIUA, participated in the Forum and delivered following presentations:

(a) City Cluster Economic Development in NCR Delhi (ADB);

(c) PPP in Urban Infrastructure in India (FICCI).

He was also a panel member on a session on Building Cities and Neighbourhoods organized by Inter American Development Bank.
