Prof. Chetan Vaidya, Ms. Satmohini Isha Ray and Ms. Arpita Dayal
participated in the CMS environment Workshop on Confronting Climate
Change- Towards Carbon Neutral Indian Cities on October 29,2009. The
principal partners of the workshop were Ministry of Environment and
Forests, Government of India and Royal Norwegian Embassy.
Prof. Vaidya chaired the session on Climate Change, Global Warming and Urban Environment, wherein he presented the City Form India Project carried out by NIUA and Oxford Brookes University. The presentation was well received by the participants.
The workshop had participation from varied fields including representatives of state and central government department, advisors, specialists working in environment, forests, renewable energy, water resources, members of pollution control board, urban development and municipal bodies as well as donor agencies and research organizations.
