Government of Orissa in collaboration with ASCI had organised a workshop on Urban Development in Orissa- Opportunities for Growth on 21-22 January 2011 at Bhubaneswar. Prof. Mukesh Mathur participated in the workshop. 

The technical sessions focused on various sectors of urban development such as enhancing service delivery- water supply and sanitation, managing municipal finance, urban housing , habitat and poverty alleviation, urban governance and reforms and urban transport and mobility. 

Prof. Mathur made a presentation on Urban Reforms, which was well received by the participants. The workshop had participation of nearly 200 delegates representing the senior officers of Govt. of Orissa, Mayors, Chairpersons, Commissioners, Executive Officers of ULBs of Orissa, Project Management Unit ( JNNURM) and professionals in the field.
