Metropolis is an association of over 120 large cities in the World. NIUA has sigend a MoU with Metropolis to share urban knowledge among Indian cities and Metropolis.
In this context, Prof. Chetan Vaidya, Director, NIUA participated in meetings of Metropolis in Barcelona, Spain during October 5-8, 2010 organised by Metropolis and Barcelona City Council.
The conference was attended by over 200 delegates from more than 30 countries. Prof.Chetan Vaidya made a presentation on Sustainable Urban Form for India at Commission 2: Managing Urban Growth. A key objective of Commission 2 is the impact of rapid urbanisation on the live-ability of cities.
He also attended meetings of Metropolis Strategic Committee and Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV).
