Urban Development Minister Meets NIUA Team

Hon'ble Minister of Urban Development, Government of India, Shri Jaipal Reddy met NIUA President Prof. Nitin Desai, Vice- President Prof. Om Mathur, and Director Prof. Chetan Vaidya on 30 April, 2010.

Prof. Desai urged that India has to improve its urban areas to achieve objectives of economic development. Government has taken substantial innovative steps to increase funding for capacity building and research in the sector.

The Minister appreciated various ongoing research activities of the Institute and congratulated it for its achievements. NIUA looks forward to contributing to the initiatives of the Ministry and addressing various pressing issues in the urban sector.
