Committee on Investment in Urban Services |

The Government of India set up a High Powered Expert Committee (HPEC) to estimate investment needed for urban services in India during 2008-2020. The HPEC will identify needs, norms and investment requirements in the urban services. It will also suggest alternate methods of financing and institutional options. The Committee is chaired by Dr. Ishwar Ahluwalia. Other eminent members include Prof. Om Mathur (NIPFP), Mr. Arun Lall (IDFC), Ramesh Ramanathan (Janagraha), Mr. Hari Shankaran (IL&FS), Dr. Nachiket Mor (ICICI Foundation), Mr. Naser Munjee (Formerly IDFC), Mr. Vijayan Unni (Former CS, Kerala), Mr. Sudhir Mankad (Former CS, Gujarat) and Mr. P.K.Srivastava (JS, MoUD). NIUA will act as secretariat for the HPEC and provide research and other support. |
