Dr. Basudha Chattopadhyay is a Research Analyst at the Institute.  She is Ph.D. in Economics.  She has over twenty-six years of professional research experience.  She is working in the area of urban development for twenty-one years and has worked in various projects funded by national as well as international agencies. Her area of specialisation is urbanisation and migration. She has worked on various facets of the urban sector, which include migration, regional development, urban renewal, labour market, minimum wage, urban informal sector, structure and dynamics of urban economy, slum improvement and up gradation, urban service delivery, and financing of urban infrastructure. Prior to NIUA, she has worked with Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and West Bengal Government.  She has also worked in research projects funded by Indian Council of Social Science Research.  She has several research papers.
