Mr. Vijay K. Dhar is a HUDCO Chair Professor at the Institute and has over 30 years professional experience in the field of Urban Planning, Housing and Environment sector. He has a Master Degree in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Town and Country Planning with specialisation in Urban and Regional Planning from School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi. 

He has initiated, guided and coordinated research on many topics including urban planning, public-private partnership in Land and Housing, urban management, urban poverty and evaluation of Government policies and programmes. He has conducted training programmes on these topics for the state government and municipal officials. He has number of published papers and research reports on the subjects mentioned above. He has published a large number of research based papers in journals of international and national repute. He is a member of various committees constituted in the field of urban housing, land development and urban management.
