M.Sc. in Mathematical Statistics, P.G. Diploma in Computer Science

Mr. RAM K. DAHIYA has been working this Institute in the capacity of a Systems administrator and Statistician. He has about 20 years of experience in Information Technology and has Specialisation in Computer based Information Management and Statistical Modeling. He is M.Sc. in Mathematical Statistics and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra. During Master degree his concentration was in Advanced Inference Multivariate Analysis, Applied Statistics, Mathematical Methods of Operation Research etc and during his Post Graduate Diploma (Computer Science), the Concentration was in Numerical Analysis, Programming and Fundamentals of Digital Computers, Programming Languages and Compiler Design, Data Structure, File Organisations and Data Base Management Systems, and Operating Systems. He has been involved in Estimation and Projection and Establishment of Clearing House of Information. He is also involved in developing an Urban Information System that organises the data into a system which can be periodically updated, retrieved and disseminated. He has fair understanding of the softwares, relevant for estimating and projecting National, Regional and City level data on population; and activities and occupations using different assumptions involving different growth rates, variations in the components of growth such as migration, births over deaths etc. and age and sex break-down. He has gained understanding of the techniques that are relevant for estimating future requirements of urban infrastructure and services, using different norms and standards, involving technological options etc. He has conducted various training programs on Information Technology for the Institute. He has experiences of working with the organization like NIC and ICMR and has working experience of various Operating Systems and languages.
