Nilanjana Dasgupta Sur is a Research Fellow at the institute. She has a Post- Graduate degree in Planning with specialization in Urban Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi and a Masters degree (Gold Medal Holder) in Geography from the Benaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. She has over 5+ years of experience in the field of urban/regional development, urban and environmental management. Prior to NIUA, she has worked in the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) and the Indian Institute of Public Administrations (IIPA), New Delhi as Research Officer. She had been working in different projects at NIUA like the GOI-UNDP Project on “National Strategy for Urban Poor”; GOI-UNDP Project on “Urban Poverty Reduction Strategy”; Preparation of Primers for Optional Reform under the flagship programme of JNNURM; “Peer Experience and Reflective Learning (PEARL)” Programme under JNNURM and so on.
