Nilanjana Dasgupta Sur is a Research Associate at the institute. She has a Masters degree in Geography from the Benaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi and a Post- Graduate degree in Planning with specialization in Urban Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi. She has over 5 years experience in the field of urban/regional development, urban and environmental management. Prior to NIUA, she has worked in the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) and the Indian Institute of Public Administrations (IIPA), New Delhi as Research Officer. She had been working in the GOI-UNDP Project on “National Strategy for Urban Poor”, running in the institute and was Incharge of the two geographical areas Dakshinpuri & Kalyanpuri. Presently working with the JNNURM project in the Urban Reform Agenda.
