	Mukesh P. Mathur, Professor at the Institute is a Ph.D. in Economics and has more than 30 years professional experience in the urban sector. He has coordinated a series of research studies and training programmes for municipal functionaries in the areas of local government finance and urban services management. Currently he is coordinator FIRE(D) project and JNNURM. Before joining NIUA, he served as a Research Fellow at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi. Dr Mathur also worked as an Assistant Socio-Economist with the International Potato Centre, South- East Asia Regional office, New Delhi.  His research, training and consultancy interests are in the areas of urban policy, urban infrastructure services and municipal finance. He has published a number of research papers in the leading newspapers and academic journals. Detailed CV
