• Flash Cards for Urban Poor Communities on Nutrition and Health Education

This is a set of ten flash cards for use by volunteers/facilitators/trainers working with the urban poor communities. These flash cards cover such issues as health, nutrition, sanitation etc. which are of common concern to the urban poor.

• Flash Cards on Children in Need of Special Protection

This set of flashcards highlights the various adverse circumstances that children from the urban poor communities find themselves in and also creates an awareness about the various ways and means by which those circumstances can be changed or avoided.

• Flash Cards on Working Together to Improve our Neighbourhoods

This set of flash cards relates to communities forming groups and working together to improve their neighbourhoods. It attempts to create an awareness on how self-help neighbourhood groups can be formed and action initiated.

• Communities in Action for Sanitation

(Available in English and Hindi)

This booklet comprises six case studies of cummunities in action for management of problems related to sanitation and solid waste management.

• Communities in Action: Mobilising Urban Communities

(Available in Hindi)

This booklet documents successful case studies of community based organisations – the process by which they were established, problems faced, and there functions.

This documents initiatives taken by urban local communities and innovative ideas for promoting education and school attendance.

• Communities in Action: Pro-Poor Child Friendly City Planning

This documents successful case studies of pro-poor child friendly city plans designed to improve the coverage of basic services, networking the urban poor within the basic city fabric, and convergence efforts of different line departments in improving the social indicators.

• Training Modules

These are meant for training project officers and community organisers of the Urban Basic Services Programme. The volume contains 14 modules on various aspects of the programme. It also contains training material to facilitate the implementation of these modules.

• Training Kit on Constitution 74th Amendment Act

(Available in English and Hindi)

A kit comprising four training modules, overhead transparencies and detailed information on the 74th CAA for use by trainers to train women, community organisers, NGOs and elected representatives. These are designed to create awareness among the above group about the provisions of the Constitutional Amendment and inform them about their role and provide action ideas.

• Working with the Urban Poor: A Manual for Trainers

(Available in English and Hindi)

This manual aims at building the skills of trainers in training programme partners at all levels – community, city, district and state, towards empowerment of women and achieving national social sector goals.

• Participatory Learning and Action in Urban Poor Communities

(Available in English and Hindi)

This is a documentation of a PLA exercise carried out in a community in Tughlaqabad, Delhi. It documents the various PLA techniques used and the issues that emerged from the exercise.
